It's not easy to retain vocabulary and expressions when you're studying a language, and it's especially difficult to get words out on the spot when you're having conversations. I hope these weekly posts could be good practice for your Japanese, and let's take it one word at a time.
The question for today is: How do you say "Reservation" in Japanese??

予約 [Yoyaku]
予約する [Yoyakusuru] means to make a reservation. This is an important vocabulary when it comes to traveling to Japan.
Example:
予約したいです [Yoyakushitaidesu] - I want to make a reservation
予約できますか? [Yoyakudekimasuka?] - Can (I) make a reservation?
Writer's note: I'm really bad at talking to people on the phone so I'm really grateful for the online booking system we have today where you could make a hotel reservation without having to talk to anyone. Thanks internet.
