It's not easy to retain vocabulary and expressions when you're studying a language, and it's especially difficult to get words out on the spot when you're having conversations. I hope these weekly posts could be good practice for your Japanese studies!!
The question for today is: How do you say "Optimistic" in Japanese??
The answer is...

前向き [Maemuki]
前 [Mae] means forward
向き [Muki] means direction, or to face a certain direction
前向きな人 [Maemuki na Hito] means a positive person
You can also say ポジティブ [Pojitibu] literally meaning positive just like in English.
Writer's note: I consider myself negative, and it's definitely not something to be proud of, but I feel like negative people do well in terrible situations since they always consider the worst-case scenario. That being said, I am terrified of AI taking over the world. Please help.
