It's not easy to retain vocabulary and expressions when you're studying a language, and it's especially difficult to get words out on the spot when you're having conversations. I hope these weekly posts could be good practice for your Japanese studies!!

エアコン [Eakon]
"エアコンディショナー" is the proper way to write out "air conditioner" in Japanese, but most people call it エアコン [Eakon] for short. In fact, some Japanese people may not even know what you're talking about if you say "air conditioner".
Writer's note: No one uses the word "AC" in Japan by the way. I tried, and my landlord thought I was talking about an Australian rock band.
