Beautiful Japanese Word of the Day #1
雨もよい (amamoyoi)・雨模様 (amemoyou)
"Amamoyoi refers to a type of sky that looks as though it can rain at any second."
Ama often known as Ame means rain.
Note: Ame can be used by itself but Ama is often used together with another word.
i.e Amagumo 雨雲 (raincloud) is Ama (rain) + Gumo/Kumo (cloud)
Moyoi is not a common word; it means to prepare or that something is about to happen.
Moyou means motif or design.
Writer's note: It's clever how they would put rain and a word that means design, together. I don't like the rain much, but at least it gives me an excuse to stay home.
