How do you say "Music" in Japanese??

It's not easy to retain vocabulary and expressions when studying a language, and getting words out on the spot when you're having conversations is challenging. I hope these weekly posts could be good practice for your Japanese studies!!

The question for today is: How do you say "Musicin Japanese??

The answer is...

音楽 [Ongaku]

音 [On] means "sound"

楽 [Gaku] means "to have fun"

Another word would be ミュージック [Myuujikku].It's literally "music" in katakana, and is commonly used as well and would be understood by most Japanese people.

Writer's note: I love Remioromen. Usually known for their song "konayuki" but they have other great singles so check them out when you have time ;)
