It's not easy to retain vocabulary and expressions when you're studying a language, and it's especially difficult to get words out on the spot when you're having conversations. I hope these weekly posts could be good practice for your Japanese, and let's take it one word at a time.
The question for today is: How do you say "Never Mind" in Japanese??

The answer is...
何でもない [Nandemonai]
Nandemonai means it's nothing.
Example:
Person A: Doushitano? [What's wrong?]
Person B: Konomae.....iya nandemonai [The other day....no, never mind]
Writer's note: You can say [Yappari Nandemonai] which means [Actually, it's nothing] to sound a bit more natural during a conversation. I'm really bad at explaining rules and telling stories so I'm pretty indebted to this expression.
