Inside Torori Tenshi no Warabi-Mochi
Torori Tenshi no Warabi-Mochi is quickly expanding across Japan with 189 stores selling milk tea. The Tapioca Boom in Japan ended a few years ago but this time it’s not tapioca that’s in these drinks but warabi-mochi. Warabi-mochi is a well-known dessert in Japan and differs from the typical mochis that are made of rice since it uses bracken starch, which you then eat with sweet soybean flour called kinako and black sugar syrup called kuromitsu. This new drink takes this traditional dessert to the next level by combining it with milk tea, and you end up with an extremely addictive drink. here's the link to their website: https://www.torori-tenshi-no-warabimochi.com/
Torori Tenshi no Warabi-Mochi recently opened in Yamaguchi so I had to try it with my wife (more like SHE had to try it and I tagged along). There are three basic flavors: kuromitsu (black sugar syrup), standard milk tea, and green tea. I tried the kuromitsu flavor and my wife tried the green teen flavor. My standards are pretty high since I drank boba every day after school, so at first, I was a little unsure of how this drink would do in my books, but lo and behold, I loved it. Like, I loved it more than boba. The texture of the warabi-mochi goes so well with the milk tea and the kuromitsu, and the sprinkled kinako is the cherry on top. Same with the green tea flavor; it was just as good as mine.
